Overview

A midcap company with a vaccine portfolio that is expected to plateau within 3-5 years asked RxC to explore strategic growth adjacencies and adjacent spaces for value creation.

Approach

RxC worked closely with the client team to:

  • Review the company's base case by discussing strategic considerations, reviewing the current portfolio and competencies, and aligning on the gap and other considerations.

  • Align a list of strategic alternatives to address mid/long-term needs based on qualitative measures.

  • Evaluate adjacencies qualitatively and quantitatively by identifying attractive TAs, potential late-stage/marketed assets in each TA, and developing a list of attractive opportunities.

  • Develop a strategic roadmap with target products/companies.

Results

The client has shared RxC's findings on strategic opportunities for long-term growth and the supporting strategic roadmap (including a shortlist of products and companies to target) with the Board members for further guidance.
